FALL CHECK ON HEAT PUMPS:

  • Check blower motors, bearings
  • Check air filter
  • Check blower motors, bearings, outdoor
  • Check electrical connections
  • Check capacitors
  • Check contactors
  • Check operation of back up heat
  • Check defrost operation
  • Check refrigerant charge and temperature rise

Fall check on gas furnaces:

  • Test safety controls
  • Check flue pipe
  • Check base of chimney
  • Brush and vacuum burners
  • Brush and vacuum heat exchanger, if possible
  • Check electrical connections
  • Check blower motor bearings
  • Check air filters
  • Perform an efficiency test
  • Perform a CO test to make sure unit is operating properly
  • Clean flame rod
  • If heater is high efficiency, check out the intake and exhaust piping
  • Flush condensate trap
  • Flush condensate drain
  • Flush pump 

SPRING CHECK:

  • Clean condenser coil if needed
  • Clean out bottom of unit if needed
  • Check crank case heater
  • Check refrigerant charge
  • Check operation
  • Check temperature drop and thermostat operation
  • Check Superheat and sub cooling
  • Check outdoor disconnect 
  • Flush drain pan and drain line
  • Flush and clean condensate pump
